With over 50 years of expertise, Hadleigh Castings is a leading UK aluminium foundry. From their head office in Hadleigh, Suffolk, their focus is on delivering value, reliability, and quality through advanced technology and manufacturing precision to a wide variety of sectors including aerospace, automotive and life sciences. 

Providing a full aluminium casting and manufacturing service, Hadleigh Castings’ comprehensive capabilities include everything from CAD/CAM and pattern making, to precision sand casting, and extensive inspection facilities, including laser scanning.  

The challenge

Hadleigh Castings faced the need to modernise their IT infrastructure to keep pace with growing business demands. With over 60 users, they required a seamless solution for improving both internal operations and overall business continuity; their existing IT systems were reaching capacity, and the company needed to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure. 

The challenge extended beyond simple hardware upgrades. Hadleigh Castings needed a comprehensive solution, which included updating their Office 365 licenses, improving server performance with VM builds, and ensuring robust network security. They also sought to enhance their internet connectivity with leased lines and fortify their defences with firewalls, while also incorporating managed backup services, Mimecast, and Sophos for email security. 

The solution

Working closely with their internal team, we developed a tailored IT solution to meet their needs. This included the provision of Office 365 licenses to streamline communication and collaboration across the business.  

To address network security, high-performance internet leased lines were installed, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity across the company’s operations. Firewalls were implemented to protect sensitive data, and comprehensive email security was provided with Mimecast and Sophos, safeguarding the business against cyber threats. In addition, managed backup services were set up to ensure business continuity in case of data loss or disaster. 

Working alongside Hadleigh’s internal team, their servers were upgraded through the implementation of VM builds, optimising performance and scalability.
