Having begun his early career in IT computer servicing, James always had ambitions to create his own company. With this determination in mind he formed his first business at the age of 18 and then in 1992 went on to form Arc Systems. Located initially in an old dairy in the centre of Chelmsford, James started to grow the business and build a dedicated team around him.
With James’ meticulous eye for detail and ensuring customer service is always the primary focus, Arc Systems has gone on to be the multi-million pound revenue business it is today.
Day-to-day you will find James still supporting many of our long-standing customers as well as working closely with the management team in developing future strategies. James is very proud of his two sons who are both professional footballers. As you can imagine football is very much his favourite pastime.

Technical Director Matthew (CCNP) joined Arc Systems in its early years as a senior network engineer. Bringing his invaluable networking experience to the business provided Arc Systems with the technical knowhow to develop its first hosting platform and venture into the initial steps of Cloud Computing as we know today.
Now, Matt is responsible for the day-to-day running of our hosting infrastructure, backup platform and developing new products and services for customers. He also provides support to our senior technical team to assist with the design of new customer solutions. Matt enjoys spending time with the family, skiing, playing the odd round of golf (fair weather only) and is a huge Formula 1 fan.

With 50 years in IT, David joined Arc Systems in 1995. David’s early career was spent at IBM and then he co-founded Commercial Data Systems Limited (CDS) in the late 70’s. CDS started out servicing and supplying card punches (the first method of storing digital data) before progressing into the world of Apple II and IBM PC1 (X8086 CPU’s) and beyond. Finally, in 1987 the business was acquired by GCS (Granada Computers Systems).
Today, as well as overseeing procurement and staging new equipment, David also researches evolving technologies around networking, storage and server markets.

Steve started his career with Arc Systems straight from school, initially being tasked with creating new business opportunities which proved crucial to the early growth of the company.
Over the years he was responsible for the sales department including new business and account management teams until moving positions to a more overall management of day to day business along with finance and growth strategy. Steve is a long suffering armchair West Ham fan, loves gaming, skiing and family life.

Matthew joined in 2007 as a senior engineer. With his Cisco accreditations and depth of systems and networking knowledge, Matt hit the ground running and was quickly promoted to Helpdesk Manager and then Operations Director.
Matt now oversees the day‐to‐day operations of the business systems ensuring all cogs are well oiled and turning smoothly. After implementing the ISO 9001 standard in 2014 Matt continues to develop and improve our business processes with the ultimate goal of improving our services and communication to our customers.
Outside of work Matt enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking and watching anything sport related (mainly football).

Craig joined Arc Systems as an apprentice in the workshop in 2003 and quickly progressed into Technical Support and Engineering. Within a few years Craig had earned the title of Senior Engineer and his passion for discussing and recommending technology meant he moved into Technical Account Management.
Today Craig heads up the Sales Team and is responsible for the New Business and Account Management teams. Craig is a technology sponge and is always testing new technology both in the commercial marketplace but also in the home IoT space. Out of the office, Craig is keen on a bit DIY and is a self-confessed petrol head and F1 fan!
Craig’s a family man with two boys who keep him on his toes.
Joined in 2011
With over 20 years of IT experience, Lee joined Arc Systems in 2011 as a Senior Field Engineer. After a brief time in the field, Lee moved into account management and then progressed to the position of Helpdesk Director.
Lee today manages the helpdesk, customer service and installations teams. He is also responsible for overseeing our more complex project deliveries.

Starting in the industry during the late ’90s and joining Arc Systems in 2018, Mark has vast industry experience. Having worked with companies of all sizes from small businesses to large enterprises, he has a great understanding of business requirements and solution design. Mark believes that IT should be an asset to a business working in harmony with its goals.
Currently, Mark’s daily responsibilities include working with Account Managers on more complex system designs, Arc ‘s datacentre operations and assisting the helpdesk if required on high-level issues. Mark is a keen motoring enthusiast so most weekends you will find him either on a track driving one of his cars or working in a garage under a car somewhere!

Richard joined Arc Systems from a blue-chip insurance company in 2014. It was here Richard achieved his accreditations in Cisco and experience in networking and security. After initially starting as Senior Network Engineer Richard, was promoted to Network Security Manager and day-to-day Richard leads the networking team.
He is also a member of the Senior Technical Team responsible for planning and delivering security, networking and storage projects. Richard and his wife love adventure and where possible they will be off somewhere exotic.
Marie joined Arc Systems in 2015 as a Customer Services Assistant. Quickly she progressed to Customer Services/Quality Assistant, then to Office & Quality Manager and finally, promoted to Procurement & Quality Manager. All of these roles have given Marie a thorough understanding of multiple areas of the business which goes hand in hand with ISO.
Marie’s first main focus is ISO, ensuring that Arc Systems upholds it’s well earned Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001:2015 which centres around customer satisfaction. Among other responsibilities she completes external audits with the British Standards Institute and internal audits to streamline the processes used across all areas of Arc Systems. Marie’s second main focus is the Procurement of software and hardware from our approved supplier list, ensuring parts are ordered and delivered on time for the installation date.
In her spare time, Marie enjoys learning new crafts, languages and spending time with family.
